Kanye West’s NSFW Scandal: Venetian Boat Company Announces a Lifetime Ban
In a recent development that has left the internet abuzz, a Venetian water taxi company, Venezia Turismo Motoscafi, has banned Kanye West, who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021, and his partner Bianca Censori from boarding its boats. The ban follows an incident involving the couple engaging in a compromising act in the back of one of the company’s water taxis.
The controversy erupted when photographs of West and Censori in an apparent sex act surfaced online. These images quickly went viral, leading to widespread criticism of the couple’s behavior, particularly considering Italy’s traditionally conservative Catholic culture.
“Our company dissociates itself from such acts and behavior,” a spokesperson for Venezia Turismo Motoscafi said in a statement to the Independent. “West and Censori will certainly no longer be welcome on board our company’s boats.”
The photographs depict Censori kneeling in front of West in the back of the boat, with West’s naked rear end visible in some of the images. The taxi driver, preoccupied with navigating through boat traffic, was reportedly unaware of the incident. The spokesperson noted that had the driver been aware, he would have “immediately disembarked and reported the transgressors to those in authority.”
An unnamed third party, who allegedly obstructed the driver’s view to the stern, was also reportedly present in the taxi at the time of the incident.
West, 46, and Censori, 28, who works as an architectural designer for West’s company Yeezy, were first spotted together earlier this year. Their relationship has been the subject of media attention, especially following TMZ’s report of their non-legally binding marriage ceremony shortly after West’s divorce from Kim Kardashian.
The scandal comes on the heels of West receiving backlash for making violently anti-Semitic remarks in public last year. His comments about planning to go “death con 3 on Jewish people” and remarks about the “Jewish underground media mafia” controlling Hollywood drew considerable criticism.
The recent incident, however, has brought an entirely different kind of infamy to both West and Censori. The photos have not only led to their banishment from Venezia Turismo Motoscafi’s services but also prompted calls for their arrest and charge for public indecency. As per the Italian Constitutional Court, such a charge could carry a fine of up to €309 (AU$520).
The incident has also led to renewed conversations about West’s influence over Censori, with many expressing concern for her well-being. Some have questioned whether West is controlling her, while others have pointed out her apparent submission to the Yeezy designer in the photographs.
The scandal has even dragged West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian into the fray, with conflicting reports about her reaction to the incident. While some claim that Kardashian sees similarities between her relationship with West and his current relationship with Censori, others insist that she has no interest in intervening.
Despite the controversy, West and Censori have continued with their unorthodox lifestyle. Their peculiar Yeezy-inspired outfits and their habit of walking barefoot on Italian cobblestones have been as much a subject of media scrutiny as their recent scandal.
Overall, the incident has painted a concerning picture of West and Censori’s behavior in public spaces. While the couple’s future actions remain to be seen, their ban from Venezia Turismo Motoscafi’s services is a warning to celebrities that their status does not exempt them from respecting public decency and cultural values.
